Waverly is home to many beautiful parks, a ballfield with a one-of-a-kind "Grand Stand" and two Ports which offer anglers and boatsmen access to the Missouri River.

WAVERLY BALL PARK LIGHTS PROJECT

There is only one place you can smell the warm scent of popcorn and freshly cut grass, hear the crack of a bat and cheers we grew up with, see your kid or grandkid hit their first ball, or feel the joy of taking home a W after a nail biting 9th inning. That place is of course a baseball diamond and we here in Waverly are blessed to have one in our back yard. Not only is it just a diamond we happen to have one of two only remaining covered wood grandstands left in the state of Missouri.

There was a time when our Santa Fe HS boys and girls would play on that Waverly diamond and the place to be was right behind them rooting them on. We just recently had the opportunity to have one off those games back here and it dusted off some great memories for many.

The Waverly Parks Board along with many other Waverly organizations are committed to bringing more of those games back here.

To do this we are reaching out to our community for support in time and donations with the goal of replacing our ball park lights.

We all appreciate a great local game and we appreciate anything that you can do to help make this happen. If you are a company and are looking to advertise we have space available on the ball park fencing.

Join us by contacting city hall or any of your Parks Board members and in making new memories that will last a lifetime.

See you at the ball park.

Be looking for more information in the coming weeks on how to help or donate.
